How does INDEX® work?
Sellers post electronic listings of diamonds for sale by downloading files to INDEX.
Files with sell listings can be uploaded at any time in a variety of ways, including
Email. INDEX internet search engines allow buyers to easily specify what they are
looking for and obtain selected listings of diamonds that can be sorted by best
prices. Buyers can also post specific buy requests. Subject to approval by suppliers
approved INDEX firms can download listing of diamonds for sale and these listings
can be posted on the buyer’s website for sale to their clients.
How is INDEX different from RapNet?
INDEX - Internet Diamond Exchange is a full service exchange that guarantees payment
to suppliers and delivery to buyers. Buyers and sellers are not identified to each
other. INDEX adds a standard 3% clearing house fee to seller’s asking price.
RapNet is a trading network where members deal direct with each other and pay annual
membership fees. RapNet transactions are not guaranteed by the network.
